This morning we caught the train (again!) from Milan to Como.
The terrible view from our hotel room!
Despite the rain we found our hotel and headed out to explore the town of Como (which has free wi-fi!). We are staying at a hotel right by the lake with amazing views but, despite our best efforts (I.e. visiting the local Nespresso store), we have not yet run into George. Como is a gorgeous place with cobblestone streets, piazzas and lots of nice places to sit, have a coffee and take in the view.
The Como Duomo - one of many many churches in the area!
Tomorrow - the HOHO bus (hopefully better than the very ordinary one in Milan yesterday!).
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm sensing Milan was not a favorite! I've never been there and can't say that you have inspired me to go. I do love italy though and would love to go back.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you finally got a decent coffee, shouldn't be any problem in Italy. How hard is it to ind a laundromat! I'm so glad it wasn't just me.
First day of the may races yesterday - beautiful weather, sun was shining, sunscreen had to be applied, people in short sleeve or sleeveless dresses, unbelievable. We took a rug and lay out on the lawn in the members at the finishing post!
This morning we wake up and it hasn't stopped raining! Joel is in a marquee today and Damian wren and his girlfriend are coming down for today and tomorrows races. Think Oscar and I might give it a miss today!
Who knows what tomorrow will bring! Gai Waterhouse is down - she is tiny!
I can smell bacon and eggs, must get out of bed and get some into me. Take care. Joel, Joel and Oscar. Xxxxxxx
