No I didn't buy a t-shirt - Jo-Anne has put a ban on tacky souvenirs. But let me tell you why I heart Paris...
Things we saw today:
- The Louvre - just from the outside - it's really big! Plus it's just around the corner from our hotel and I'm NOT exaggerating. But no visit for us today - it's closed on Tuesdays.
- The Tuileries Gardens - will explore more on the weekend cos they're JUST around the corner!
- The Eiffel Tower - from a long way away.
- The hop on - hop off bus - yes we found another one! This one has FOUR routes so we'll be having another go tomorrow!
- The Pont Neuf - The Bridge of Tears, beautiful and an amazing view.
- Notre Dame - absolutely gorgeous! Have checked out mass times for Sunday.
- The Musee d'Orsay - massive line up! Have purchased tickets for later in the week.
- The Place de la Concorde - we kept our heads.
- The Avenue des Champs-Élysées - no shopping today though.
- The Arc de Triomphe - crazy traffic!
- The Eiffel Tower - closer this time but planning a proper visit for later in the week.
- Sacre Couer - from a long way away!
- Two photo shoots.
- The Louvre - at night, from outside, it's HUGE!
- Pont de l'Archeveche - The Love Lock Bridge.
- Plus a million statues and beautiful old buildings.
Things we ate/drank...
- Croissants
- Macaroons, cake and hot chocolate (not a little bit of chocolate or powder with milk but hot chocolate!) and coffee
- Onion soup with toast in it and melted cheese on top - amazing!!
- Beef bourguignon with a good French red.
Must be bed time now - what a day!!
Nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, nah nah nah, nah nah nah .. nah .. nah .. nah - that was the start of Sweet Caroline. If you missed the start you can go back and start again. I'm going out to buy a really really big fridge today. Girl Joel where art thou?? Been missing for days. Found a life outside of the blogosphere?? Fridge!! Going out to buy a really big fridge today. Jo and Collette, now I believe you're really there. Was hoping for a photo next to the glass pyramid thingy. That's the one thing they haven't got in Frankston. Well, this is exciting then. No offence to the Mornington Peninsula but Paris is .. Paris. Fridge? What's wrong with the old fridge? I'm running out of room to put all the photos of the Bond girls. Selfies three days out of four. Need a bigger fridge door. Can you just buy a door? After all, what are fridges for? (Again I say, how's the poetry?) Thanks for listening to the readership you two. It's really interesting being able to count how many macaroons you've had and taste the chocolate ... Girl Joel, we wore them down. Show some appreciation.
ReplyDeleteAndrew, you could buy a double door fridge. Could fit lots of photos then. Today's song, "I love Paris"(in the Springtime)? Love the photos of Paris and the food. Maybe you will see some of the French backpackers who took over Thompsons beach for the summer. Cheers FOA
ReplyDeleteWho is FOA????? Want to know. Been lying awake wondering. Got a huge enormous double door fridge like FOA said. Now I just need more photos. Girl Joel, get in the game. Where art thou? If you don't compliment Jo and Collette on the photos they'll stop sending them.
