Today we did really exciting things like sleeping in and doing the laundry and organising our next couple of train trips and going to the supermarket (not as straight forward as it sounds!).
But...we also discovered the HOHO bus and started to explore Vienna. We got our first glimpse of Stephansdom - the central landmark of Vienna...
...as well as the Blue Danube...
...the State Opera and many of the churches...
St Francis of Assisi
...palaces, monuments, museums and coffeehouses around the city! The architecture is lovely...
...and the city is filled with parks and gardens - almost 50% of Vienna is green. The HOHO bus also took us through Prata which used to be the Emperor's hunting grounds until he opened it to the public, now it's a recreation area filled with sporting grounds, restaurants, walking tracks, gardens and an amusement park complete with a famous ferris wheel.
Oh and we finally had apple streudel! It was good!!
